To prepare educators with the knowledge, skills, and compassion necessary to support students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities, in order to create inclusive and equitable educational environments where all students can thrive.


Objectives
- Provide educators with a deep understanding of special education laws, policies, and practices to ensure the rights and needs of students with disabilities are met.
- Equip teachers with effective strategies for individualizing instruction, accommodations, and interventions to support diverse learners in inclusive classrooms.
- Foster a culture of empathy, respect, and inclusivity among educators to create supportive learning environments that celebrate diversity and promote equity.
- Collaborate with families, specialists, and community partners to address the holistic needs of students with disabilities and create comprehensive support plans.
- Promote ongoing professional development, reflective practice, and evidence-based approaches to enhance educators’ capacity to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities.

Special Education Foundations Course

Differentiated Instruction and Universal Design for Learning Course
A specialized program focusing on designing instruction that addresses diverse learning needs and promotes accessibility for all students.
Assistive Technology in Special Education Workshops
Practical workshops on utilizing technology tools to support students with disabilities in their learning and communication.
